Lord and God of all creation,

I come to you today with praise for your goodness, for your steadfast love,

and for your unabounding mercy.

During this season of advent,

as I prepare my heart for the birth of you Son at Christmas,

Help me to let go

of past wounds, past disappointments, and continual frustrations

that keep me from drawing closer to you.

FILL ME WITH YOUR PEACE, HOPE, JOY, AND LOVE

SO THAT I MAY GROW CLOSER TO YOU IN THE COMING CHRISTMAS SEASON.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
