TheLightIsON.org is an English and Spanish Reconciliation resource for individuals and parishes that makes coming home to the sacraments easier!
What we like:
Honestly, we found the social media campaign first, but stayed on the site because of their phone friendly resources and useful parish toolkit!
The social media movement #TheLightIsON helps people find different confession times across multiple parishes. It started in the Archdiocese of Washington and Diocese of Arlington, but we have seen dioceses across the country adopting the slogan.
The Guide to Confession is a great before, during, and after explanation of what people can expect.
The parish toolkit includes logos for social media, pew cards in four languages, and examination of conscience printables for adults and children- in both English and Spanish.
Also, their “Why Go to Confession” resource is a useful tool to brush up on how to communicate the sacrament to curious seekers.
Who it serves:
Individuals and parish leaders can use these resources for all parishioners. The #TheLightIsOnForYou hashtag is also a great way to increase your ministry’s online visibility. The clearly outlined steps and resources make Reconciliation more approachable, even for people who have been away for a long time. We love how easy this makes the first step back to Church!
